Setting an Eyelet

Eyelets may be used to reinforce small ribbon/cord holes, or alone as design elements. These instructions are for the Fiskars Eyelet Setter Set (60-TL-3133).

  1. In the desired location, punch a hole of the same diameter as the tubular part of the eyelet.

  2. Place eyelet through hole, leaving rounded top exposed on front of cardstock.

  3. Place eyelet and cardstock face down on a piece of chipboard (the back of an old paper pad or shoe box lid works well). Be sure to work on a hard solid surface.

  4. Using the appropriate size nib, place the setting end of the eyelet tool into the back of the eyelet and gently pull up on top of the tool, slightly stretching the spring, then release it. Be sure to hold the tool vertically in place.

  5. Repeat as necessary until the eyelet is snugly set. Pulling too hard on the top of the tool will damage the eyelet and may even damage the tool itself.
