Heat Embossing
Heat embossing is a simple
technique that can quickly turn a flat project into one with a professional
look and feel. Basically, you melt a fine powder onto an inked image,
leaving a slightly raised, glossy area. Everything you need to get started
embossing is included in the
Heat Embossing Starter Kit (99-SK-EMBS).
-
Before beginning, read all directions and warnings
enclosed with the heat tool.
-
Work over a covered area. I suggest clean 12x18 manilla
or newsprint paper (NOT newspaper, the ink will ruin your project).
-
Prepare stamping location with Faith's Little Miracle by
gently rubbing sack over the surface that will receive the stamped
image.
-
Using a slow-drying ink (Emboss or other pigment ink),
stamp image on desired location.
-
Cover entire image with Embossing Powder. I recommend
working over a coffee filter to catch excess powder.
-
Remove excess powder by tilting surface into coffee
filter. Use Super Brush to remove any stray flecks of powder.
-
Return unused Embossing Powder to container.
-
Use tweezers or eraser end of a pencil to hold the
cardstock in place. Turn on heat tool and hold 6-8 inches from surface.
As Embossing Powder is heated, it will melt and turn into a quick-drying
liquid. Move tool around image until all Embossing Powder has melted.
-
Once all Embossing Powder has been melted turn off heat
tool and your image should be set within a minute. Be sure to unplug
heat tool when finished.
